Have you ever made a character based on the voice of a singer / actor / etc ? Not the person, mind you, but the sound of their voice. If not, I recommend giving it a try, as it's rather fun to create a character around how they sound and speak. ;3
This is Chauncey. He's a Marquis living in a haunted castle spire entirely alone. He's horridly melodramatic and laments just about everything. Chauncey is serious business. Bumping into someone on the street is akin to making an enemy for life to him. He has a terrible time dealing with life, the world, and everything around him. His list of people who are either out to kill him or are deserving of his revenge runs about ten miles long. Chauncey sits around playing the violin, crooning about all the woes of the world. He's emo before emo was emo. :< What a jerk. He also suffers from about every ye olde wasting disease to have ever existed. Oops. So it goes.

I love the ":c" expression!

Well, I've never made a character of one, but the voices of Oldies singers especially make my brain conjure up images and snippets of a person entirely different from the actual singer. How neat that you made a well formed character from a voice. Something about his expression and the style reminds me of the prince character from the book, "The Prince and the Pauper". I'm definitely looking forward to more art from you.

Thank you very kindly! This is actually one of the first drawings of Chauncey, so he's been tweaked and changed a little over time to really become his own entity. Hopefully I'll have something in the way of a full illustration or two depicting him now that he's more fleshed out. It's even better not to know what the singer looks like, I'd say, so as not to have your vision of the owner of the voice ingrained in your mind while designing.
